Springtime is an ideal time for a trip to Florida's beaches

With the cusp of winter still leaving traces of biting cold in the air, many have visions of sultry temps and lush foliage. Luckily, Florida has the sea breeze, abundant sunshine and palm trees you’re looking for. The coastline is dotted with pristine beaches catering to a variety of diverse travelers. Whether you come for family fun, a romantic getaway, or simply for some rest and relaxation—there’s always a beach waiting for you to dive right in.

Siesta Key

Forget about the ringing cell phone and full email inbox. Siesta Key, just offshore of Sarasota, is the ideal getaway for some much-needed downtime. First things first at Siesta Key—leave the customary footprints in the “World’s Finest, Whitest Sand,” as it is known. Next, enjoy one of the many water sports available, or simply soak up the warm gulf waters, which are ideal for swimming. Just be sure to keep your eyes peeled, as dolphin sightings are frequent. And finally, finish the day by taking advantage of Siesta Key’s picture-perfect sunsets.

Sanibel Island

Miami Beach

Daytime Miami Beach offers a picturesque sight of a palm tree-lined, expansive beach under a radiant sun. Jump into your favorite water sport, go fishing, or simply bask under an umbrella. When you want to take a break from the surf and sand, try the upscale shopping along Washington Avenue and Ocean Drive, or stroll down the world-famous Art Deco architecture-lined streets. Tucked away in the northeast corner of the state lies Amelia Island, a pristine location famous for its relaxing shore.
