Woody
Who doesn't remember the woody, a truly iconic American vehicle. The predecessor of today's SUV conjures up images of fun and recreation, especially when a couple of surfboards are strapped on top. The first production models appeared in the 1930s and were used mainly by resorts to transport guests and their luggage back and forth between the resort and the train station. Hence the name station wagon. These days, restored woodies like this 1946 Chrysler Town and Country can command prices well over $100,000.
