Florida drivers are reaping the benefits of two new services now being offered by AAA. For those who pull trailers behind their vehicles, AAA recently began Emergency Road Service coverage for those trailers. And if you use any of Florida’s toll roads, you’ll want to take advantage of SunPass, a timesaving transponder that can now be purchased at AAA offices throughout the state.
Members of AAA who pull trailers behind their vehicles, take note: AAA Plus RV and AAA Premier RV memberships now cover trailers, including those for boats, horses (the trailer must be unoccupied), ATVs, motorcycles and personal watercraft, as well as small utility trailers.
AAA’s RV coverage requires a minimum membership level of AAA Plus RV, which offers similar benefits to the AAA Plus membership. This membership level increases the covered towing distance to 100 miles, plus it provides additional benefits not included in AAA Classic membership. AAA Premier RV provides additional benefits on top of AAA Plus RV membership, among them free 24-hour concierge services and Emergency Travel and Medical Assistance.
Members with more than one recreational vehicle (RVs, motorcycles, trailers, etc.) pay only one membership fee to cover all of them. The fee is based on the length of the longest vehicle or trailer.
In order to take advantage of this new service, all loads on trailers must be properly secured, licensed and registered, and debris on trailers must be covered (by a tarp or similar item).

AAA is pleased to announce a new member convenience with the sale of SunPass toll road transponders. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) recently approved AAA as an authorized retailer for the devices.
A SunPass transponder is the key to FDOT’s innovative prepaid toll program and can be used in lieu of cash on most of Florida’s toll roads and toll bridges, plus you can activate them to work at select airport parking garages. Both the SunPass “Mini” ($4.99) and SunPass “Portable” ($24.99) are now available at AAA offices throughout Florida.
For drivers who use any of the toll roads or toll bridges operated by Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise or local expressway authorities, SunPass saves both time and money while improving traffic safety and reducing roadway congestion.
