Ha’penny Bridge is one of the most famous landmarks in Dublin.
My wife Peggy and I always look forward to our annual Chairman's Cruise. It's a chance to explore the world and get to know some of our friends and AAA members better. For this year's cruise, I'm pleased to announce one of the most exciting and fascinating itineraries we've ever put together.
Our AAA Travel Agency went all out to provide you with member-exclusive opportunities to fully explore this remarkable region of the world. We'll be visiting the British Isles, including Scotland, Ireland and the United Kingdom. We'll also tour Norway, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark—all in a 16-day journey.
If you haven't traveled with us on one of these unique vacations, I encourage you to join us this year. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and to enjoy the luxury of an itinerary planned exclusively for our passengers. We'll be sailing on the spectacular Azamara cruise ship Azamara Journey, a smaller, more intimate ship that offers world-class cuisine, spectacular entertainment and luxurious accommodations.

Colorful houses line the waterways of Copenhagen.
Our journey will begin with a flight to Copenhagen. While our luggage is whisked to our hotel, we’ll take a pleasant city tour before checking into the charming and elegant Hotel d’Angleterre.
The following morning, we’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel before a more extensive city and harbor tour. Knowledgeable harbor guides share the city’s eternal story while we gently float through the canals, passing beautiful old buildings and landmarks. Copenhagen is the modern metropolis that never forgot its history.
We’ll visit several architectually stunning locations, including Amalienborg Palace, Rosenborg Castle, Christiansborg Palace and City Hall, located in the heart of the city.
It’s then off to lunch at one of the many spectacular restaurants in the area. Denmark is known for fabulous seafood and a variety of eclectic dishes.

Zealand & Roskilde
After another hearty breakfast, we’ll explore more of the island of Zealand—or "Sjealland," as it's known in Danish. Denmark is made up of a large peninsula and several islands.
Copenhagen and Roskilde both reside on this westernmost island. Castles, sweeping landscapes and quaint villages make up the region. Roskilde is a medieval town, amazingly well-preserved with centuries-old cathedrals, churches and architecture. After exploring this picturesque town, we'll share lunch at a local eatery.
In the afternoon, we’re off to board the Azamara Journey to begin our North Sea exploration cruise.
GERMANY

Kiel Canal
We'll cruise through this 61-mile waterway that links the North and Baltic seas. As the ship sails gently past beautiful German scenery, you'll see crowds of well wishers who greet the ship from each of 10 bridges. The shoreline is marked by cyclists, picnicking families and even a few cows along the way. You'll have a chance to explore the ship and the many amenities it offers. Check out the spa or simply lounge leisurely on deck.

Windmills dot the landscape near Amsterdam.
As an exclusive tour on our journey, you'll be treated to a canal cruise through this historic city, whose waterways are as much a part of everyday life as the roads on land. Colorful homes and businesses line each side of the canal, often with stairs leading down to the water's edge. We're then off to historic Haarlem, with its Gothic churches and picturesque shops laden with tulips, cheese, wooden shoes and other great local finds. Share a pint with a friend before heading out to explore some of Holland's famous windmills.

Stunning architecture gives Edinburgh, Scotland, an air of elegance and charm.
This evening, you'll enjoy another exclusive AAA shore excursion, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. 2010 marks the Diamond Jubilee year, with special performances each evening. Against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, you'll enjoy a celebration of talent from four continents, including pipers, gymnasts, singers, dancers and an amazing motorcycle display team.
If ever there were a town made for walking, it would be Scotland's capital. Renowned as one of Europe's most attractive cities, Edinburgh's Old Town and New Town are a marvelous mixture of elegant streets, charming squares and quaint alleyways. Of course, the city's most distinctive landmark is Edinburgh Castle, set high up on a craggy cliff in the center of the city.
